A Home for Hospitality and A Growing Family: Project Spotlight

Updated: Jun 26, 2023

The exterior of this home is striking hue of black with timber framing, the lush green landscape that surrounds the home is the perfect backdrop creating a dramatic pop as you drive up. You can’t help wanting to see the inside of the home….

Stepping into the foyer, you are greeted with lots of light, high ceilings and warm tones. The walls and trim are the same paint color which really makes the black cased windows standout . As you round the corner, the kitchen takes your breath away and yet invites you into relax…. grab a drink. The perimeter cabinets are a deep custom green color- Salamander by Benjamin Moore, the large gold pulls dance on the moody drawer fronts, the cooktop area sticks out ever so slightly giving a furniture like feel. The white subway tile that sits a top the Calcutta Gold countertop creates a crisp setting for the wood floating shelves that match the island. The glass cabinet doors let you sneak a peak at the glistening barware that is above the easily accessible wine bottles. The island cabinetry is knotty alder with a cappuccino stain and farmhouse sink. To the right through a doorway, is a butlers pantry with a sink – set up perfectly for their espresso station. A flawlessly curated Modern Farmhouse look!

The bathrooms were not an afterthought in this home. The primary bath has a mini fridge so the inhabitants can enjoy a “shower beer” after a long day; this sits a top the counter for easy access which also creates visual interest. The black floor tile is laid in a herringbone bone pattern with coordinating grout color creating activity without overwhelment. Circular mirrors trimmed in gold reflect the sleek rectangular shower door and white subway/white grout that lay behind it. The white and black motif with gold accents further accentuates this transitional modern style. The additional three bathrooms each have an elevated use of geometric interest which varies from the floor to the mirrors to the shiplap.
